Grayson James Allen (born October 8, 1995) is an American college basketball player who currently plays at Duke University. Allen was selected as a McDonald’s All-American in 2014, out of Providence School in Jacksonville, Florida, where he won a state championship in 2013. He won the McDonald's All-American Slam Dunk Contest, jumping over future Duke teammate Jahlil Okafor. On April 7, 2015, Allen played in the 2015 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship Game, scoring 16 points, including 8 straight. After the game, Allen was cited as one of the main reasons for Duke's win by commentators.〔 Coach Mike Krzyzewski agreed, saying, "We were kind of dead in the water. We were nine points down and Grayson just put us on his back." Allen is one of just 4 all-time Duke basketball players to score 90 or more points in the first four games. Allen is one of the highest scoring guards in all of college. Allen is also widely considered a top 30 NBA pick in the class of 2017. Grayson Allen holds the record for the second most points ever scored off the bench for the NCAA National Championship game. Grayson scored 16 points for Duke.〔http://www.draftexpress.com/〕〔http://espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=400827728〕〔http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/109137/instant-analysis-grayson-allen-duke-overwhelm-vcu-in-second-half-sprint〕〔http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/109137/instant-analysis-grayson-allen-duke-overwhelm-vcu-in-second-half-sprint〕 ==References==
